Creative Memories Mother’s Day Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome!!

You have reached the 7th stop on the CM Mother’s Day Blog Hop.   My fellow CM Advisors and I are sharing ideas and inspiration for your Mother’s Day layouts and projects featuring Creative Memories products.  If you’re hopping in order, you’ve arrived from Diana’s blog.  At the end of my post I’ll send you on your way to the CM Blog.   Be sure to visit each stop – there are lots of  wonderful ideas being shared!  (More info, including the complete list of Blog Hop stops, is at the bottom of this post.)Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop

Today I have a really (REALLY!) quick album to share with you that would be perfect to give as a gift not only to moms, but to teachers, friends…just about anyone who has photos!   This would also make a great project for a new scrapbooker!  For those of us that have been scrapbooking for a while it’s easy to forget how overwhelming just the idea of placing photos in an album can be. Keeping this in mind, I designed this album to be ready for photos to be placed on the pages with very little effort.  An added bonus was just how quickly this comes together!

I started off with the Mother’s Day 8x8 Bundle (shown above) and incorporated elements from the Hello Baby products.

Of course the Hello Baby items are perfect for baby photos but CM did such a great job designing these items that they work beautifully with non-baby photos, too!

The super simple idea behind this album is to add just a bit of decoration to each page while leaving space for various sized photos to be placed either vertically or horizontally.  To do this I placed just a bit of embellishment near the top & bottom edges on each page.

For the pages shown below I used a pre-designed border from one of the pieces in the Hello Baby Boy Paper Pack. You can view all the fun designs in this pack here.  For most of the pages in this album I followed this formula and used a pre-designed border strip or sticker cut in half and placed one on each neighboring page. The heart stickers I used are from both the Hello Baby Boy and Girl sticker packs. To help them coordinate a little bit better I swapped the hearts in the middle, and added some pen stitching using the fine tip of the Black Dual Tip Pen.  Adding just a little bit of pen detail to each page helps to unify the pages in the album, design-wise.Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop - Hello Baby items

Here are some of the other ways I added just a little bit of detail to the top & bottom of the pages throughout the album:Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop - Hello Baby items Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's WorkshopHello Baby Girl items - Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's WorkshopCreative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's WorkshopCreative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's WorkshopCreative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's WorkshopHello Baby Boy items - Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop

The sticker from the Hello Baby Girl pack shown below had baby themed words on it. I covered those up with a strip of paper from the Hello Baby Girl Paper Pack so now it can be used with other photos, too. Included with the Mother’s Day 8x8 Bundle (among other things) is a set of Pastel 2 Embellishments (fun paper flowers & sparkly bling!) and a set of Mat Packs that measure 6.5" x 4.5".  These are handy to use on their own as a decorative element, as journal boxes or they’re perfectly sized to use with 4x6 photos as PHOTO MATS!!! No photo trimming required!  Include the Mat Pack (and flowers & bling if you can part with them) with the pre-decorated album and a Tape Runner for a convenient gift given from the heart.Pastel 2 Embellishments - Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's WorkshopPastel 2 Embellishments - Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop

Most of these mats can be used even if the design isn’t orientated the way your photo is. Pastel 2 Embellishments - Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop
Way to go, CM! The mats have been carefully designed to be used just about any way you like!

LOVE the paper flowers & bling!!  These are available separate from the bundle, too!Pastel 2 Embellishments - Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop

Last page of the album.  Super, super simple!Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop

The first page is the only one I completely decorated.  This page uses papers and a sticker from the Hello Baby Girl product line as well as a photo mat from the Mother’s Day 8x8 Bundle.Hello Baby products -Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop

Shhh….I’m going to give this album to my Mom.  She has so many photos of the grandkids I thought this would be a good place to for her to keep some of her favorites.  Even though she has scrapbooked in the past (she is the person who hosted & invited me to my first CM party – almost 16 years ago!) I think she’ll appreciate the simplicity of the album.Creative Memories Mother's Day Blog Hop on Lisa's Workshop
